The lake

SilverTip was curled up under a tree that she thought was far form any other type of wolf life. she wasnt sleeping, but appeared to be. the wind ruffled her fur and drifted different scents across her nose. she pulled in a deep breath and her eyes snapped open. there were new scents, and one was coming toward her. she sat up, leaning back on her haunches as she looked around. no one was there right now. she canted her head a little to the side. SilverTip waited until she could see something, some sign of the wolf taht she smelled. she got up, and walked foward.

She took a moment to feel how different everything around here was. she felt the soft soil under the pads of her feet and nails. she could smell a lake, the clean water almost making more her thirsty. she twitched her nose and headed off toward said water. SilverTip noticed that even the atmosphere was different. everything was more laid back, easy. she had been kicked out of places her who life, and she was desperately looking for a place to settle down. she longed for a pack.

she walked on until she came across a few wolves and... she looked at the animal under the tree. a huge cat. she shrugged and padded toward the wolves. her ears were pinned flat against her head, her head down and her tail between her legs. she didnt say anything and didnt want to offend anyone, so she waited for someone to speak to her.

Mydnite growled at the direction in which the Tiger had run. She snorted and sneezed in disgust. then she turned away and relaxed. "i hate cats...expecially that kind." as she turned she noticed an unfirmilar scent. When she turned her head in the direction of this really strong scent, she saw the shewolf. She froze. where the hell did she come from?? She stared at the wolf. She tensed from shock but was not planning on attacking because the shewolf wasnt showing any signs of a threat with her tail between her legs. She kept her eyes on the wolf but turned her neck and most of her head to the right and said "Kita...we got more company" she then adjusted back to looking straight at the newcomer.

Kita shook his head and closes his eyes for a moment. He did not like that tiger in the least. He hoped for his sake and the others that would be the last he would see of it. Out of the corner of his eye he caught Crosis just up and leaving. Kita craned his head to the side and watched waiting for some indication that Crosis planned on explaning his sudden departure but he seemed to offer none. "Least you could do is let me know when and where your going Cr- hm?" His ears flicked and rotated towards Mydnites voice, first one then the other and his whole head soon to follow. Kitas deep blue orbs settling on the aproaching newcomer. "Nobody moves or speaks till I give the go ahead."

He growled to his followers. He had coem to realize that he was going to have flex a little more serious athority over the family. The outbursts were starting to become more prevailant it seemed and had it escalated any further with that tiger, any one of them could have been killed. Kita eyed the new wolf with carful scrutiny. He quickly scented the air drawing in short rapid breaths holding his nose and his tail high toward...her. He lowered his head back down stairing at her. "The winds must be circling" he thought now that this incoming wolf must mean no harm since knowing what she was potentialy up against. Her body and her approach said she was safe and so, he moved. Lifting his haunches in a flash he trotted toward her at a medium pace. His orbs never leaving hers until he was right in her immidiate proximity. Kita stopped and stood straight and blinked, again he looked her over now more closly though, his ears twitched and turned.

silvertip watched, who she assumed was the alpha, make his way over to her. she backed away a little as he came up to her. he kept looking her in the eyes and she wasnt quite sure how to take that. no one had ever really looked her in the eyes this long. or looked her over the way he did either. she figured he was merely checking to see if she was a threat. all of the sudden she felt foolish. she had shown she meant no harm to him or his pack. why should she act meek? she wanted to show she respected him, and his pack, but not that she was weak. she was far from it.

she turned her eyes back up at him and let her ears point up and foward, her tail up and wagging a little, showing that she was indeed, still harmless. she canted her head to the side and took in a few rapid breaths, sniffing him out through the wind. then she smiled at him. "i am sorry to intrude...i have been looking for a pack...i-i was kicked out of my home...and ive been alone for a few years." she said as her ear twitched in the directions of other noises, before turning back to him. she bowed a little, "im silvertip...or silver for short...which ever you prefer." she smiled at him, feeling strangely at ease near him. "not to be rude but...what is your name?"

Kita pulled his head back at her sniffing. He blinked at her then moved to the side of her sniffing more and looking her over as she talked. He got so close to her side his nose nearly brushed over her fur. Mid sniff he would sharply look back to her to see if she was going to snap at him. He made a circle around her inspecting her the whole while she talked. Once he had completed the circut and was sastifed he looked to the others with the go ahead and then back to her with a nod. He belived her, she gave not even the slightest hint that she may be deceving and Kita accepted it droping his guard a little. "Sorry if you feel Ive violated you Silver in any way but you are in my territory and it wouldnt be the first time I was lured away from my pack by a female and then ambushed by a rival pack." He huffed at the idea then remembered she had asked his name. I am Kita, Alpha male of the lost lake pack."

Despite himself Crosis did as instructed, stopping his movments and hugging the ground closely. Intresting how quickly he obeyed. He didnt like the feeling, but seeing as he was somewhat commited at this point he found it best to do as he was told and remain still and silent. Last thing he needed was some big bad monster he was too careless to notice jump and eat him whole. Of course the thing that appeared was very unlike any mosnter he would have thought up. Another wolf? Where did these people keep coming from and why had he never noticed them before now? Seeing as how Kita and the female...silver was it? seemed to not want to kill eachother he rose from his impromptu hiding spot and watched them both. He didnt really say anything yet, merely watched and wondered if the newcomer had any friends with her.

Mydnite remained where she was, but never once did she take her eyes of this newcomer. Out of the corner of her eyes she noticed Kita walking towards the shewolf. Mydnite stood perfectly still. When the wolf began talking, Mydnite felt herself flinch. She must have been too focused. Her mind started to wander. "Okay where did this one come from? Is she alone? Oh okay she was kicked out of her family...Why? A few years ago no alpha in their right mind would kick out a wolf....unless..." Mydnite took to steps forward when she noticed Kita giving the go ahead. Mydnite took a breif look around and saw Crosis who was getting up. She looked off into the distance and around her to make sure there were no other wolves or creatures poping up anywhere. When satisfied she turned her attention back towards Kita and the shewolf. Her train of thought resumed " Unless she had decieved them... Mydnite looked over the shewolf.She couldnt have..she does not appear to be harmful... Her mind went back to something her father once told her "Don't judge a creature by what's on the outside...looks can be decieving". " Guess we'll find out sooner or later" Mydnite began to approach Kita and Silvertip at a slow and alert walk. Her head hung level with her back and her tail still with her ears forward. She stopped a few feet away from the two and looked at Kita then at Silvertip. Mydnite raised her head then looked at Kita, "Is it alright if I search the woods to be sure there are no more outsiders?"

silvertip heard someone stand up and she turned her head quickly to see who it was. it was a large wolf, she nervously looked at kita and took a step toward her. she heard the other female speak and her ears turned toward her, not knowing what to say. she took in a breath and huffed. she wasnt a threat. there were no others in the woods. she was alone. at least kita realized that. she hoped.

she looked at him and smiled a little, "well...the wolf who had to attack you with others through deception didnt deserve to talk to you." she said to him. "but i have no wish to hurt you...or anyone in your pack. i dont wish to be thrown out again...ive gone for years without a pack, and i dont like it...i want...something.." she said, still looking at kita. "and you didnt offend me..." she smiled a bit.

Aithne had frozen in place at the mention of another wolf being in the area. Her eyes laid flat when a Kita ordered them not to move. She knew that he was not pleased with their lax behavior. Golden eyes watched as their leader when about exploring the new comer, every now and then they would flicker to watch Mydnite. She could feel that her friend was unsure of the new shewolf. Then her eyes jumped to Crosis as he came back into view from his hiding spot. And even when Kita gave the go ahead to come closer she remained behind. Glued to the spot on the ground where she sat, bushy tail curled about her hind legs. Watching and waiting, listening and observing.

Well she certainly didnt look threatening to him. She was more like Aithne perhaps, looking timid and scared only to turn into a ball of teeth and claws when you least expect it. He huffed and slowly padded closer to Kita and the new girl, not really sure what to make of the whole situation just yet. He sat between the two, eyes passing form Kita, to the new girl, then back again. So she was another loner like him, hmm? Oh well that just meant he wouldnt be the new guy anymore, even if it only lasted for a few days

Kita shifted slightly looking at Mydite as she came up. He nonded to her question saying nothing before looking back at Silver hearing her attempted flattery. "hm.." was all he said to that before looking back again as Crosis came up. "then you can understand all our suspicion, we are all stragglers from one place or another." He sniffed again taking her scent to memory. " I certainly would hope not, now tell me.....why where you dispanded from your home?" He sat up straight now staying perked eyes ears and nose all focused on her now that he had a patrol out and back up he only disrupted his attentivness long enough to see what Aithne was doing. looking back to silver he slouched a little ralaxing some.

silver looked at him and heard him 'hm.' she hoped that he didnt think she was trying flattery. she snorted a little, "im not trying to flatter." she said to make sure. "i have no place to. i was just stating a fact." she canted her head. he wanted to know why she was kicked out. "its...kind of a long and...weird story...to make it short however, ill just say that the people who took me in didnt want me any more. i went through a...change...they were too scared to keep me around." she said. she shrugged, "i dont like to remember it...it was a long time ago. ive been on my own ever since though...ive been a loner...and i dont want to be any more, like i said before." she smiled a little. "i was wondering...if it wasnt to foward...if i could..come here?" she asked, tilting her head a little to the right. "if not, thats fine. it is all up to you and i apologize if im too foward...." she still smiled.

Kita raised a brow at her snort, his jaw quivered slightly almost a twitch as she spoke. "my mistake" he retorted in a bland sort of way. His tail curled around his feet as he listened to her explain more."I see" he said and sighed with a slight nod. Many times had he heard the story of the adopted shifter. Kita smirked a little his deep almost saphire blues had wandered up to her own eyes yet again a she she spoke of living here. "If you wish to join the family...then I will not stop you." Suddenly his head lurched upward and he howled for Aithne and Mydnite. "tell me know if you wish to deticate your self to not only me but the others here as well." His eyes narrowed now slightly. This was of utmost importance to him especialy since they were such a small unbalenced pack. "One for all and all for one" he thought.

silvertip looked at him, and then around him to the other wolves that were gathering around the two of them, even the two that were still off, a little further back than the others. she nodded and looked back at kita, "i swear. i will do whatever ti takes to keep your pack safe...i will bleed for this pack...all for one right?" she smiled at him a little. "if they accept me as well, and even if they dont my mind will not change."

she looked at the other wolves again, her golden eyes flicking quickly away from kita, "so...who are all of them?" she asked, tilting her head a little bit again. "and i didnt mean to offend you." she chuckled a little, "with me not flattering you." she shrugged, "but we can talk about that later," she joked with him as she laughed a little again. "im kidding. but...i guess i should introduce myself?" she asked. she turned her head toward the others. "or shall i wait? its up to you, alpha." she looked back at him.

Ne’s ears flickered forward as she heard Kita’s howl. He wanted her to walk over there. Did she really have too? Of course she did not want to seem rude to the other shewolf, but she did not want to get in trouble either. Sighing she stood up and slowly plodded over the where the others had gathered. Taking her time to pick her way across the crisp green grass. Finally she came and sat to the right of Kita, only slightly behind him. Aithne’s reddish colored fur swayed with the wind, and her golden eyes locked on to Silver. “You called?” She asked Kita in her soft voice. Turning her eyes from the girl to the leader, avoiding direct eye contact, but still making it appear like she was staring at him.

This certainly was a strange pack...and it only seemed to be getting stranger by the day. From cannonballing wolves like Athine, to this new timid wolf. He wondered if he was better off returning to a solo career, but musingly decided against it. After all he wasnt one to talk, he did live with humans for a part of his life after all. Speaking of humans, he still needed to return to the village to retrive his pack. He needed those mementos for honors sake at least. But he guessed it would have to wait until Kita was done witht he new girl. It would be bad manners to simply leave without saying why in the middle of somethign lie this after all. The howling only confirmed that, so he waited with Aithne and the other two, wondereing what Mydnite was up to.

After recieving the okay to go search for other possible creatures, Mydnite jogged into the woods sniffing and browsing. She was sure to look next to and behind almost every tree. She discovered a few fox holes but really paid no mind to them. She saw a few rabbits as well but refrained from chasing after. She sniffed the air looking for new scents but picked up none other than the shewolf called Silver.
Mydnite decided to look a little further into the wolves. She lowered herself to the ground, looking more like she was stalking prey. She came across a few boulders that formed what could be a den. She layed on the ground and stared into the blackness of the 'den'. 'hmm...should i really go in there?..eh.what the hell." She stood back up in her stalking position. She inched forward and peered into the 'den'. She sniffed the area carefully. 'whats that smell' she thought. 'smells like a dead animal.' She took two steps into the 'den' an then heard Kita's howl. Mydnite jumped up and spun around. "Damn you!" she said aloud. After letting out a brief irritated growl, Mydnite looked back at the 'den' and said "ill be back later". She took off running towards Kita and the rest of the pack.

Mydnite came flying (running really fast of course) out of the treeline and came to a sliding hault next to Crosis. "You called?" she asked looking at Kita. She took a brief glance at Silver then back at Kita trying to get a feel of the situation.

"Well it seems I have your word...lets hope that is all I will ever need." Kita smiled and introduced the others in the order they arived. "Crosis, Aithne, and Mydnite." He smiled looking back to Silver as Mydnite came sliding in. Acurious look crept over his muzzle at her next string of commments before it broke going back to its blank default. "theirs no need for introductions, we will all get to know eachother very well in due time." He turned toward the others. "But right now we have unfinished buisness to attend to." The other wolves would probably pick up on what he was hinting at. The investigation of the humans that had been spoiled the previous night. Kita looked at Silver just out of the corner of his eye " This will be your test run Silver, I might as well get you involved right away." He looked back to the others".Crosis Im guessing since your home has changed so recently I imagine you have a a few belongings you would like to return for as well?." Kita stood now slowly pacing around the group, including Silver."which brings me to my next question, you must have a dwelling fo your own there then yes?"

His ears perked up at this. Can he read minds or something? He wondered to himself. "Just some knicknacks really, and i suppose you can consider the house my own. The previous owner met an unfortunate accident a while ago and i was the only one who seemed to want to stay there." He shrugged his shoulders and began to skulk in the general direction of the village. "Do you have plans to use the house for something?" he asked looking back at the group, it was in a somewhat secluded location after all, so if they did decide to hide out there it shouldnt prove too difficult, when he lived there he was hardly ever bothered by any of the villagers.

silvertip smiled at that and looked at the group. she tried to keep the names in her memory. she tilted her head as she listened. crosis had dealings with the humans, like her? she sighed again and studied him. he was a big wolf, bigger than normal. she tilted her head the other way, still inspecting him. she snorted through her nose and listened intently to kita speak about the humans.

she grumbled in her chest in a nonthreatening way. more of a thoughtful way as she rolled everything she remembered about humans as she could. she hadnt been or seen one in a while. she forgot what it was like. she shrugged. she didnt want to speak until she was addressed, so for now she was quiet and studied everything.
